Sara (name changed) was 37 years old when she first walked into the dental office with a toothache. A review of her health history included several chronic diseases and surgeries, and a cocktail of prescriptions that caused dry mouth leading to rampant caries. Due to a lack of financial resources, instead of restoring her teeth Sara had them removed one by one, including the tooth she came in about that day. After a bleak outlook and a near-hopeless prognosis, Dr. Stacey Simmons and a team of colleagues stepped in to perform a "mini" extreme dental makeover.
